Ahoy, gamers & gamettes, I am here to announce the arrival of Psychopimp Games, set on the planet Ganavi (or even one of your own devising). It is a traditional (if there is such as thing) 'communal story-telling' game, where a group of people get together and narrate events in a fictional reality. The game system utilizes eight Features graded from -3 to 15 (with 0 and below inflicting an inverted condition), an open-for-addition set of Competencies and Specializations (which I will see about posting later). Each player creates a character (I currently have nine playable races for Ganavi), with one person designated the gHost (get it? haha): they represent the story vision, but their rule can be vetoed by Events & Challenges. These are resolved by two features vying for dominance in the event, each point of which scores a d10 for the player to challenge with. Over a pool roll the score can vary from 1 to 19 (first 0 being ten and re-rolled, then added to; a second 0 counts as zero) and the difference determines the cost of the challenge to the successor, while the difference of the two scores is subtracted from the submissive challenger's Feature. Should the difference of the two dice pools be 5 or more, a critical success occurs and the player assumes the mantle of gHost to narrate the events for a time.
As for me, I'll be expounding the system further - as well as the story arc for Ganavi - over the coming days, months and years.
I hope to hear from you all out there for feedback as well as contact with the wider gaming community abrahadarba
